Moor Wood Stables has a date stone saying 1903, but our barn is much older and the wood is in the Domesday Book (1086). Much of the building was done in the nineteenth century, including the planting of many of Moor Wood's fine trees. These include a splendid cedar of Lebanon and two Wellingtonias, one of which used to be among the tallest trees in England, before it lost 30 feet in a lightning strike.

Moor Wood also hosts the National Collection of Rambler Roses, about 120 of them, which cover every conceivable part of the many Cotswold stone walls on the estate.
